Follow Up Boss to Google Sheets works in both directions with SyncYak, and neither needs a database. First, every lead in your Follow Up Boss account lands in a Google Sheet you share with SyncYak: a People tab with one row per lead, updated in place by its Follow Up Boss id at your plan’s pace, with name, email, phone, stage, source, assigned agent, tags and every other field as columns.
Second, the other way: keep scores, tags, pre-approval status or open-house notes in a tab, one row per lead keyed by the same id, and SyncYak writes each new or changed row into the lead’s fields in Follow Up Boss.
How it works
Sync Follow Up Boss to Google Sheets in three steps
Share a sheet
Share a spreadsheet with SyncYak’s address as an editor and paste its link. SyncYak creates the People tab and its header row.
Connect Follow Up Boss
Paste your Follow Up Boss API key from Admin, API. Leads start filling the tab at your plan’s pace.
Write back, if you like
Add a tab of values keyed by lead id and map each column to a Follow Up Boss field; changed rows are written into the leads.
Export Follow Up Boss to Google Sheets, kept current
This is not a one-off export. Each batch upserts rows by Follow Up Boss id: a new lead goes under the last row, a known lead is rewritten in place, and a lead deleted in Follow Up Boss gets the time in its _deleted column instead of disappearing. Rows are never reordered or removed, so use a filter view rather than sorting the tab.
Add your own columns next to SyncYak’s, such as notes or a follow-up date; they are never written. Notes, tasks and other objects can sync to tabs of their own.
- On every plan, Free included
- Your own columns left alone
- Deleted leads marked in _deleted
Update Follow Up Boss from Google Sheets
Field mapping reads a tab just as it reads a database table: a header row, one row per lead, an id column matched to Follow Up Boss ids. Map each column to a Follow Up Boss field; missing custom fields are created. Only new or changed rows are sent, and an empty cell never clears a field.
The starter sheet helper fills the id column of an empty tab with the ids of your synced leads, so you only fill in values.
Use cases
What agents do with Follow Up Boss in a sheet

Your assistant or lender partner filters the leads without a Follow Up Boss seat.
Scores and statuses back in FUB
A score or pre-approval status typed in the sheet appears on the lead.
A copy you own
Your lead history stays in your Google Drive if you change CRMs.
What you get with CRM sync
CRM sync copies every lead from Follow Up Boss, Lofty, BoldTrail, CINC, HighLevel, Cloze, Brivity and KW Command into a Google Sheet, on every plan with no database needed, or into a Postgres or MySQL database you own. In a sheet each object gets a tab and each lead a row, upserted by its CRM id, with deletions marked in _deleted and your own columns left alone; in a database you get a to_syncyak_<name>_people table and a _flat view with one typed column per field. Notes, tasks, deals and other entities can sync too where the CRM offers them.
Field mapping writes values back: map columns of a Google Sheet tab, or of a from_syncyak_ table, to CRM fields, and SyncYak writes changed rows into the leads. Write-back works with Follow Up Boss, Lofty, HighLevel and Cloze; BoldTrail, CINC, Brivity and KW Command sync one way. Free syncs 100 leads every 60 minutes from 1 CRM; Hobby, $29 a month, syncs 1,000 every 30 minutes from 2 CRMs and adds field mapping and real-time CRM webhooks.
- Every lead syncs on every plan; the plan sets the batch size and how often
- Signed outbound webhooks: lead.created, lead.updated, lead.deleted and sync.completed
- Invite links let whoever administers a CRM connect it without a SyncYak login
- A request log of every pull, webhook and push, kept for your plan’s window
Frequently asked questions
Something else? Write to contact@syncyak.com and a person answers.
Do I need a database?
No. The sheet is the destination. Choose Postgres or MySQL instead only if you want SQL.
How big can the sheet get?
Google allows 10 million cells per spreadsheet. SyncYak warns past 80% and stops writing at the limit with a clear message, keeping leads queued.
Which plan do I need?
Syncing into a sheet works on every plan. Writing values back into Follow Up Boss uses field mapping, on paid CRM plans.
Is there a free plan for CRM?
Yes. CRM has a free tier with no card and no end date: 1 crm, 100 leads every hour, postgres or mysql destination. Paid tiers start at $29 a month, and you can move up or down at any time.
Can I use the other SyncYak products on the same account?
Yes. Email parsing, the mailbox API, CRM sync, error tracking and tunnels share one login, one team, one API key system and one bill. Each product has its own tier, so you only pay more for the one that grows.
